Another day marks another defeat for the Chicago Bears, but the rookie quarterback Justin Fields had his moments to show why he was the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Bears were dominated in their Monday night matchup by the Pittsburgh Steelers almost throughout the game.
However, they did seem to resurrect in the last quarter, yet they still fell short of just three points to seal a win. And with that loss, the Bears find themselves in the swamp of a four-game losing streak. Although this loss was a devastating one, but they did seem to have some silver linings.

An impressive display by Justin Fields
The return of star running back, David Montgomery, along with the combined efforts of Darnell Mooney and Justin Fields, produced some phenomenal plays. “He was confident throughout the whole game, I would say the whole offense,” said Mooney. “He kept us calm, he was able to keep us upbeat in letting us know that we can go out there and still score, we’re gonna win the game and just keep us focused.”

“My mindset was like, ‘It’s time, we’re here,'” said Fields. “You can either be the guy who always gets put in that position that doesn’t show up or you can be that guy who shows up in the big moments. So I was just calm and just focused on showing up.”

The Bears also took the lead late in the fourth quarter of the game when Fields led a 75-yard drive resulting in a 16-yard Darnell Mooney touchdown with less than two minutes left to play. But the defense failed to contain the Steelers’ offense from regaining the lead. With this loss, the Bears have made a four-game losing streak for the third consecutive season.
