The house of representatives saw a recent change as the Republicans regained their power. They also controlled the house oversight committee. The House oversight committee was one of the key parties investigating the Commanders’ case.
All is not well with the Washington Commanders
The owner of the Commanders, Dan Snyder, has been battling a sexual harassment allegation. The allegations came many years after the incident occurred. Long-term Commanders employee charged the team boss with the allegations.
Eventually, five women got after the team owner with similar accusations. Originally, the Commanders were to do an internal audit and evaluate their workplace environment. However, the NFL commissioner brought in the house oversight committee as an internal audit didn’t really make much sense to him.
As of July 2021, the team was already fined $10 million and a further investigation was to be held. Snyder has been off-limits for the Commanders in all roles too. However, the Carson Wentz trade raised quite a few eyebrows. Many sources claimed it was Snyder’s doing, which was illegal at the time. However, with a change in the system, they can expect to be let off without further probe.
