It is a strategic move that should put the Washington team in a healthy position to compete in the NFC East next year. They did lose a chance to acquire Jimmy Garoppolo from the trade market, but hopefully, they have made the right call.

The Indianapolis Colts will be signing their fifth quarterback in the past five years, with the first choice being former Niners QB Jimmy Garoppolo. According to the NFL insider Adam Schefter, commanders were not patient enough to wait for Garoppolo and have rushed to get a new quarterback. Now, the race for the former Niners QB gets one more club in the form of the Indianapolis Colts.

While the Commanders received Wentz along with his full contract and a 2022 second-round pick, the Colts were able to bag a 2022 third-rounder, a 2023 third-rounder, and a 2022 second-round selection from the side. Now, the Colts will have to find a new QB and no doubt they will go after Garoppolo or some hot trades in the market.
