Marlon Humphrey, Baltimore Ravens cornerback, makes sure to keep his humorous tradition alive. While other athletes have become more reserved on social media, Humphrey continues to surprise his followers with unexpected and lighthearted tweets. Passionate about movies, he does not hesitate to give reviews on his recent watches. However, even the biggest cinephile can sometimes make an unexpected blunder, and this time Humphrey found himself in such a situation.

Humphrey solidified his status as one of the biggest entertainers in the NFL when he signed a lucrative five-year, $98.75 million contract extension with the Ravens in October 2020. The deal made him the second-highest-paid cornerback in the league. And once again, he said something that shocked everybody.

During a recent interview on the ‘Rich Eisen Show,’ All-Pro Marlon Humphrey engaged in a discussion covering various topics, including his compelling tweets. However, the conversation eventually turned into a blunder he made a month ago. It was revealed that the 26-year-old cornerback had admitted to being unaware of the true events behind the Titanic. Mistakenly believing it to be a work of fiction, Humphrey expressed his surprise when he came across an Instagram post about Kate Winslet‘s dress from The Titanic.

He recalled saying, “I was like wait, what do you mean, the dress or the replica?” He further added, “I’m not even exactly sure. But, I was like, was the Titanic real? I thought it was a movie, then they were like it was based on a true story.” It was at that moment that he discovered the Titanic was not merely a movie, but rather based on a true story. This was not the first time Humphrey had tweeted something peculiar about a movie, as he had previously made a similar mistake with another popular film.

Humphrey’s thoughts on the Rocky film franchise

Since being drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2017, Marlon Humphrey has established himself as a highly reliable cornerback. Not only has he excelled on the field, but he has also gained a reputation as one of the most entertaining personalities on Twitter in the league. His tweet about the Titanic sparked significant attention among social media users. However, he didn’t stop there.

Humphrey followed it up with another humorous thought, expressing his belief that the Rocky film franchise was based on a true story. In reality, the 1976 American sports drama film directed by John G. Avildsen was purely fictional. Humphrey admitted his confusion, saying, “At one point I thought Rocky was based off a true story so I’m all messed up.”
