Travis Kelce is undoubtedly one of the greatest tight ends to play in the NFL at the moment. But it is not just his on-field brilliance that has led to him amassing a huge fanbase. Travis Kelce speaks up on cannabis consumption in the NFL
There was an era where things were more uptight in regard to the consumption of cannabis, especially for athletes. But now, with time, there has been widespread legalization of cannabis. And this has also led to the NFL adjusting its marijuana policy back in 2021. Now, the NFL only tests players for cannabis during a two-week window before the summer training camp starts.
#Chiefs TE Travis Kelce thinks that between 50-80% of players in the NFL use cannabis.

He talked about how “if you just stop in the middle of July, you’re fine.” He then went on to talk about how many players also “stop a week before and they still pass” because of sweating it out during their extensive training programs in the summer heat.

TE Kelce recalls an embarrassing episode from college
In the same interview, the TE recalled an event from 2009 when he was still at the University of Cincinnati. When he and his college team went undefeated in 2009, they received an invitation to be a part of the Sugar Bowl. During that time, Travis Kelce recalls, “I was down in New Orleans, listening to Lil Wayne, and I wanted to smoke what he was smoking.” But just before the game, he and his teammate had to go through a drug test according to the wishes of the NCAA. And according to the rules back then, they gave him a one-year suspension. Kelce said that he was “embarrassed”, and wanted to leave the University. But his big brother Jason Kelce was always there to help him out, and he helped Travis Kelce get back into the college team and continue his hopes of playing professional football one day.
