Lamar Jackson, in his week 2 win against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football showboated during a touchdown by flipping into the endzone. And due to the flip, Jackson is reportedly suffering from a sore hip and missed a day in Ravens practice.
During ‘The Rich Eisen Show’, the NFL analyst compared Lamar Jackson’s celebration with Shawne Merriman’s lights out celebration, which would get really tiring to even perform. And NFL is a sport where players have to conserve energy and use it efficiently. A tiring or injuring celebration like that is just not mature enough.

Rich Eisen talks about Lamar Jackson
Rich got confused with the context behind such celebrations. A celebration where the player ends up getting hurt or maybe even miss most of the season, just to showboat for one moment is nothing short of immature.
“Why are you flipping in the end zone? Like you are a guy who’s running the ball all the time,” Rich said. “Lamar Jackson has to think neck-up play calm coverage, right? Snap the ball, then he’s gotta read and then most likely react. And then, while reacting, every single human being who’s very fast and strong will come after you.”

He further adds, “And then he’s got to utilize his neck up ability to realize that the rest of his body needs to get down on the ground or out of bounds, right? So why would you, instead of just strolling in the end-zone, flip in the air? And we’re thinking he’s just youthful, and he’s terrific. He’s Lamar Jackson.”

Walk it in Lamar!
Surprised by the news that because of the unnecessary celebratory flip Lamar missed his Ravens practice session with a sore hip, Rich exclaims, “Now you’re telling me he is right now not on a practice field in an NFL season getting ready for the Detroit Lions… From what I heard that you’re telling me he’s not practicing because he flipped in the end zone and he soared from it. Lamar just walk it in, walk it in. I think that’s the last time he flips this here. Yeah, ever in his life walk it in.”

It was certainly the dumbest move by Lamar Jackson to flip in the end zone like that when there was no one else going after him. And now, because of his flip, he is missing the practice session ahead of their third-week clash against the Lions.
