The Vic Fangio-coached Denver Broncos ended their season with a 5-11 record as they finished at the bottom of the AFC West table. They lost their final 3 games of the season as they missed out on a spot in the NFL Playoffs.
The Broncos were dealing with multiple injury concerns throughout the season. They were playing without their star linebacker Von Miller, who was ruled out for the season with a ‘freak injury’ suffered in preseason.
Scans revealed that Miller had a dislocated peroneal tendon and was subsequently placed on the injured reserve list.

Experienced NFL defensive end Shelby Harris also signed a 3-year extension with his current employers that keeps him with the Denver Broncos until 2023.
Harris was all praise for his teammates Von Miller and Bradley Chubb, who are expected to play a huge role in the resurrection of the franchise this season.
He said, “My thing is, we only got one year of Von and Chubb. I have such high hopes for this defense. I believe we can be top three, top two and I think we should be the top defense out there.
“We have a helluva lot of playmakers go out there and on any given Sunday make plays. I feel like we have All-Pro players. It’s just up to us go out there and put that work in.

“We have a bunch of great quarterbacks in the AFC West. But like you saw in the Super Bowl, the No. 1 way you get to a great QB is by pass rush is pressure. I feel like we just fortified that, so I think every QB out there should be worried,” Harris told Mike Klis of 9News Denver.
The AFC West does have some quality quarterbacks in the form of Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs), Justin Herbert (Los Angeles Chargers), and Derek Carr (Las Vegas Raiders).
