Deshaun Watson is already not the most loved passer in the league. Majorly due to the allegations of sexual misconduct levied against him. Although Watson settled all the cases and never faced criminal charges, the QB took the dislike meter a notch higher when he uploaded what fans called a cringe TikTok video. This has pushed for comparisons between Deshaun Watson and one of the Mahomes brothers. However, it wasn’t 2x Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes, but his younger brother Jackson.

Jackson Mahomes has been in a very similar boat to that of Watson. The only difference is Jackson is in the middle of his troubles while Watson’s down days look to be behind him. However, the cringe social media post made the connection between the two more obvious for a couple of NFL fans on Twitter. And some of the memes were hilarious.

Deshaun Watson came back to the 2022 season after facing an 11-game suspension for several misconduct allegations. The grand juries did not indict Watson on two separate occasions and he didn’t face any charges. Things are slightly more complicated for Jackson Mahomes. The 22-year-old was arrested and released on a $100,000 bond for assault and battery charges from February 2023. With all the rampant similarities between Deshaun Watson and Jackson, the TikTok dance number was the last nail in the coffin for fans to pounce.

“My man must have just gotten a massage,” one comment said, referring to Watson’s misconduct episode. “Get this criminal off my page,” another fan commented. “There is no way someone can be this cringe,” another wrote.

This isn’t the first cryptic TikTok from Watson. In another video posted on his account, the 27-year-old signal caller can be seen drinking something, while nodding his head and saying, “2023 is about to be a movie.”

The similarities with Jackson are more than that with Patrick Mahomes

The only way Deshaun Watson can compare to Patrick Mahomes at the moment is by the size of their contracts. Deshaun Watson holds the NFL’s highest-ever guaranteed quarterback contract. The 5-year $230 million fully guaranteed deal exceeds Mahomes’ 10-year $503 million payout by a lot. More so, after PM15 took a voluntary pay cut to increase the KC Chiefs’ cap room in 2023. Jackson, on the other hand, would find many a common interest with the former Houston Texans quarterback.

After coming back from his suspension last year, Deshaun Watson held a 3-3 record, while throwing for 1102 yards, 7 touchdowns, and 5 picks. Can Watson elevate his status from Jackson to Patrick when the 2023 season kicks off in September?
