Matt Ryan and the Indianapolis Colts faced major humiliation on Saturday when they blew a 33-point lead in their 39-36 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. And that’s not all of Ryan’s humiliation for the evening. A Minnesota pass rusher got a little too personal with the Indianapolis quarterback.

The play that looked pretty mischievous on camera just exemplified the level of intensity the Vikings defense displayed. Minnesota defensive tackle Harrison Phillips accidentally poked Matt Ryan’s rear end in a heated attempt to rush the quarterback. The hilarious image perfectly summed up the outcome of the game in a nutshell and made some rounds on the Internet.

This is the biggest lead blown in the NFL’s history. Everyone remembers the infamous 28-3 Super Bowl LI game where Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons lost a 25-point lead to Tom Brady’s New England Patriots. And this is kind of becoming Ryan’s thing. Blowing away leads. Vikings QB Kirk Cousins threw 4 touchdown passes over 460 yards to complete the historic comeback against Matt Ryan’s Indianapolis Colts.

Fans reacted to the hilarious finger in the butt pass rushing strategy against Matt Ryan

Phillips’ ingenious strategy amongst other defensive plays kept Ryan in check. The Vikings’ defense kept the Colts’ offense away from the end zone in the entire second half except for a field goal.

However, fans, despite understanding the urgency, went for the jokes that were there to be taken. Minnesota broke the 32-point NFL comeback record set by the Buffalo Bills in 1992 to script this epic return. And one fan slipped the pun in. “That’s called a come-from-behind victory,” he commented on Instagram.

Another seemingly confused fan wrote, “hold up, what part of the game is this?” A Vikings fan commented that maybe Minnesota was helping Matt Ryan out when he would ultimately “s—- his pants.” The Colts QB only threw for 182 yards and a solo touchdown in the losing effort.
