The Jacksonville Jaguars fired their head coach, Urban Meyer on 16th December. Urban Meyer appeared on OutKick’s ‘Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich’ for the first time since he was fired. He said, “It was the worst experience I’ve had in my professional lifetime.”
Meyer joined the Jacksonville Jaguars this NFL season after moving from Ohio State. With 13 games played, Meyer recorded a 2-11 in the regulars season. The only 2 wins came against the Buffalo Bills on 17th October, and the Indianapolis Colts on 9th January. Meyers was clearly unprepared to handle the pace of such an intense league. According to Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich, Meyer said, “I’ll tell you, Dan, it is a lot different. It is different. Just the amount of time you get with your quarterback. Just the amount of time you get with your team. The roster management. How you practice.”

Meyer compared how NFL is so different from college football. He added, “You know, the amount of reps you get before you go play a game, to me, was shockingly low. For example, we would practice, you maybe get one or two reps at something, next thing you know you’re calling it in the game. In college, you never do that. In college, you’re gonna get at least a dozen opportunities to practice that before you ask a player to go do it in the game. So there are a lot of differences.”
After defeating the Bills, he thought his team was gaining momentum, but again, it didn’t last long. Sadly, his brief stint in the NFL came to an end when he was fired near the end of the regular season.

He was fined $100,000 for violating team rules during practice in July 2021. Then, in October 2021, Meyer misbehaving in a bar in Columbus was caught on video. Furthermore, former Jaguar kicker Josh Lambo publicly accused Meyer of physical abuse on December 15. Lambo reported Meyer kicked his legs constantly during warmups.
The accusations piling up against him led to his termination on December 16th. Jaguars owner Shad Khan said about firing Meyer, “I am bitterly disappointed to arrive at the conclusion that an immediate change is imperative for everyone.”
