As of now, Patrick Mahomes reigns arguably as the best quarterback in the league. He is going to be entering the 2023 season with the pride of being a Super Bowl champion, a Super Bowl MVP as well as the regular season MVP. He is everyone’s favorite for prolonging the success he has seen in the 2022 season. However, he isn’t the only QB who has been gearing up for a brilliant season. In fact, one of Mahomes’ old teammates has gone on to give his upcoming competitor a shining endorsement.
The teammate in question is Orlando Brown Jr. The Pro Bowl offensive tackle went on to play with the Chiefs and helped them bring in their latest Lombardi trophy. However, after entering free agency, the tackle went on to sign him with a 4-year long deal for $64 million. Interestingly, he has been traded to the Cincinnati Bengals, where he incidentally met the QB he endorsed after Mahomes

The QB in question is none other than Bengals wizard, Joe Burrow. For the longest time, Burrow has been considered a skilled QB with skills at par with Mahomes. Interestingly, the offensive tackle went on to give Joe Cool a stellar endorsement during a locker-room interview. The tackle first spoke about the different kinds of QBs he has played alongside. he cited Mahomes’ example and portrayed him as a champion.
Furthermore, while answering a question that involved comparisons between Burrow and Mahomes, he praised Burrow’s poise. While making further comparisons, he said, “With Patrick, he’s in year five six you know when I’m there with him or four and five and uh he had already won a Super Bowl. And coming in on the end on the beginning of you know really where Joe’s about to you know hit the stardom and you know had an opportunity to go out there and win that MVP to be that win that Super Bowl to win that Super Bowl MVP.”
Interestingly, the two QBs have been compared quite a bit. However, the rivals have nothing but a profound level of mutual respect for each other. On one hand, Mahomes has shown nothing but humility in victory over Burrow. And on the other hand, Burrow has shown nothing but grace in defeat.

The Mahomes-Burrow camaraderie
While they battle it out to the fullest on the field, the two QBs have a lot of respect for one another. While Mahomes did win it all the previous season, one of his biggest obstacles was Burrow and the Bengals. They put up a tough fight against the Chiefs during the AFC title game with the game ending in a close score of 23-20. After the game, the two youngsters were seen in a friendly embrace, with nothing but words of encouragement for each other. Reportedly, after the victory, Mahomes had said, “Many more, dog, many more. Hell of a game. You have a hell of a career dog.” To this display of kindness, Burrow had gone on to reply and say, “You too, brother. Go win it now.” For a moment, the two even seemed like a younger version of the Brady-Manning rivalry.
With nothing but pure love and commitment to the game, Mahomes and Burrow have evolved into one of the best rivalries in the NFL right now. Furthermore, Brown Jr, who has played closely with Mahomes has gone on to express his confidence in Burrow’s abilities. Moreover, the upcoming NFL season will definitely reveal who between the two QBs has the upper hand.
