Football injuries can be devastating. Given the extent of extremities that NFL players undergo, there can be severe repercussions. Sometimes the injuries can also become fatal and might need extensive checkups from doctors. With the defensive players responsible for defending their receivers. The role becomes challenging as they double up on defending their side with the oncoming offensive players. Recently, a New England Patriots’ young cornerback suffered a serious injury.

The unfortunate incident took place during one of the recent pre-season games. The atmosphere was grim and team-mates were concerned. This isn’t the first time an NFL player collided and collapsed on the field. Earlier this year, the Bills’ safety Damar Hamlin went through a similar incident. When the player underwent a cardiac arrest post tackling a Cincinnati Bengals opposition. Isaiah Bolden, the Patriots 2023 NFL draft pick was carted off the field in a stretcher.

On what seemed like a usual Saturday with two premier NFL teams Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots fighting it out. A rather misfortunate affair of events followed. The young cornerback Isaiah Bolden with his team-mate Calvin Munson in the fourth quarter. As per Bolden’s teammates, the collision was a “freakish one”.

The cornerback Jalen Mills said, “It looks like just one of those collision hits, those freak hits that you see on rare occasions in this league, that you hate to see,”. Following the injury, Bolden was rushed to a local hospital in Green Bay.

Once the medical team rushed onto the scene. All the players quickly left their sidelines and immediately got on the field. Once the injury transpired, the teams mutually decided to discontinue the game. This incident is quite reminiscent of what happened with the Bills’ safety Damar Hamlin months ago. 

Bolden’s injury reminds the Patriots team-mate of Hamlin

The severity of Bolden’s injury is quite similar to that of a Buffalo Bills player. Damar Hamlin, the NFL’s safety also suffered a life-threatening scare upon colliding with Bengals’ Tee Higgins. Mills was quick to point out “Of course that’s in the back of all of our minds when something like that happens.”

Hamlin made a resounding comeback to the training sessions. The young player gave a staggering message to his loyal fanbase ahead of his comeback game. His comeback was dubbed “triumphant” by buoyant Bills fans and management. The safety proved his worth with three tackles as he guided his team toward victory. 

Now, fans would be waiting in anticipation as Bolden nurses his injury. Bill Belichick’s words resonated with the spectators as he prayed for his player’s recovery. Fans would be keeping their fingers crossed and would support Bolden for making a roaring comeback!
