Baltimore Ravens placed their non-exclusive franchise tag on Lamar Jackson, which irked both fans and athletes alike. While many considered this to be unbecoming of the Ravens, the former NFL MVP is somehow the one paying the price. In a surprising turn of events, teams have declined from associating with Jackson. However, there seems one candidate who is interested in the QB.

Jackson was garnering a lot of attention from NFL teams, but almost each one of them has pulled out. Speculations about the Indianapolis Colts coming through for the 2019 NFL MVP have been doing the rounds, though.

The non-exclusive franchise tag allows Lamar Jackson to test out his own worth in the NFL free agency. At the moment, Jackson seems to have run out of potential suitors. But all could change if the Colts decide to chime in.

The Indianapolis Colts team has recently made some big changes to their current roster. In addition to trading their cornerback Stephon Gilmore to Dallas Cowboys, they also parted ways with their veteran QB Matt Ryan, allowing them the required cap space to lure in Lamar Jackson.

Notably, the Colts have been in dire need of a game-changing quarterback, ever since the surprise retirement of franchise quarterback Andrew Luck in 2019. Other than the Colts, Lamar seems to have run out of options, as most teams have either filled up their QB position or have very clear plans concerning certain individuals.

Jackson, being as competitive as he is, felt he deserved if not more than close to what Watson signed, and actually, many around the league agreed.

Most NFL analysts felt that Deshaun Watson’s deal somehow messed up the entire equilibrium of the QB market. Colin Cowherd even went on to say, “Why should the Cleveland Browns dictate the market in this league? They’ve never dictated anything. They’re the worst-run team in their division.
