The starting quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers is showing the league how dangerous he is on the field. The 49ers secured their seventh win against the Seattle Seahawks. Along with that, they have saved a seat for themselves in the playoffs. One of the reasons why the franchise could fare that far is the 22-year-old Brock Purdy. He looked just as ferocious against the Seahawks as he did in an unearthed video.

Purdy earned himself the moniker of ‘Mr. Irrelevant.’ It is given to those players who get selected at the very end of the third day of the NFL Draft. Being the seventh-round rookie in the 2022 NFL Draft, his fame spiked when he defeated the GOAT of the NFL, Tom Brady. Fans saw the 45-year-old legend congratulating a rookie. It was heartwarming. The young prodigy represents Queen Creek, Arizona. Purdy is the most famous athlete from Queen Creek. However, he moved away from Arizona and signed with the Iowa State Cyclones. At Iowa State, he posted 48 games. He threw for 12,170 yards, 81 touchdowns, and 33 interceptions.

His start against the Kansas City Chiefs in the final drive where he completed a pass to McCloud showed his prowess. Then, against Miami, he again showed his relevancy. After Jimmy G was out of the game because of his brown foot, he drove his team on a 9-yard TD drive in the first quarter. It was the first passing touchdown that a Mr. Irrelevant could ever throw. Then in the following quarter, he threw his second TD which put San Francisco in the lead.

Then came Purdy’s career-defining moment against the legend, Tom Brady. He looked like a far better QB in comparison to Tampa Tom, who struggled throughout the game. After their glorious 35-7 win, Brock Purdy became the first shot-caller to defeat TB12 in his first start. He scored three touchdowns in the game.
Many believed that Brady passed on the torch of greatness to Purdy. Thus, fans can only wait and watch what happens with the future star.
