After only a few months of Aaron Rodgers‘ transfer to the Jets, he seems happier than ever. He is often seen going to basketball games with his friends, dancing at a Taylor Swift music concert, and working so hard during practice that unfortunately led to an ankle injury. There were even numerous rumors of him enjoying his offseason with the rumored girlfriend, Malory Edens. There is no doubt that he is having the time of his life after being transferred to the Jets. But it also seemed very certain that there was bad blood between Rodgers and his former team. In a recent interview, Rodgers revealed extensive details on why his former home turned into an estranged blank space.

The Athletic recently released a comprehensively detailed interview with Rodgers that highlights all the ongoing happenings during his stay with the Packers in recent years. Rodgers is known for his leadership values and his sticking up for his teammate during those times is beyond admirable.

Aaron Rodgers stood up for Davante Adams

Rodgers opened up about how the Packers handled negotiations with Davante Adams that led to the latter’s transfer to the Raiders. He also revealed that the whole thing started after Jordan Love was drafted to the team in the 2020 draft season in round 1. Rodgers showed extreme hesitancy toward the new quarterback’s enrollment to the team as it led to his dependent teammate’s release to maintain cap space. The management argued that the whole thing was flagged off by the GM of the Packers, Brian Gutekunst.

Rodgers was not happy in the slightest at how the whole thing was being handled. He also said that Davante was not receiving the fair amount of money he deserved as he noticed that Christian Kirk, another wide receiver on the team, was being paid more. This whole situation led to his trusted teammate’s departure from the team. Rodgers took the matter into his hands and involved his agent to present an ultimatum to Mark Murphy, president and CEO of the Packers.

Murphy had to choose between Rodgers and Brian

Rodgers’ agent, David Dunn, contacted Murphy and asked him to choose between Rodgers and Brain. Rodgers wanted either Brain to be fired from the management or accept Rodgers’ trade to another team. Murphy couldn’t make a huge decision as such, so he stayed neutral and silent on the issue. Rodgers was not remotely happy with the management’s decision, so he started looking for an exit from the team.

The Packers tried extremely hard to keep their star QB in the team, but the relationship had been frail for a while now. The Jets are very happy with their new QB and have started to restructure the whole team around him. Rodgers seems extremely comfortable in his new home. The Packers also have a challenge to overcome with their quarterback and new drafts. But it is hopeful for both the teams as changes have been a turning point in the league numerous times. We are yet to see how Rodgers adjusts to the new environment and performs in the upcoming season leading a new team.
