The NFL is all about business. Leaving a great quarterback and a good side is often a tough choice to make, but at the end of the day, it’s all about making more money and entertaining the fans. Former Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill recently shared an emotional post pointing at his former quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who activated his Superman mode in Week 2.

The gunslinger Mahomes managed to seal a great win in their second game of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chiefs posted 27-24 on the board, with Mahomes registering two touchdowns.

After the game, the quarterback admitted that the Offense could not play their best game. However, the defense helped them hang around. In fact, Mahomes just got lucky to get bailed off four interceptions in the game. Otherwise, the result could have been something else if the opponents had gotten hold of the ball.

“Offense, I mean, we didn’t play our best football, and I think the defense that was huge for them to keep us in that game, make some plays, get points on the board,” Mahomes said in the press conference.

Reacting to the game, Tyreek Hill made a Tweet about missing his long-time buddy. “Good ball 15,” Hill wrote with a ‘missing’ emoji. For the past six seasons, the wideout played a significant role in Mahomes’ achievements and led the team towards their Super Bowl title in 2020.

However, this offseason, the duo parted ways, with Hill bagging a lucrative four-year, $120 million contract. But the camaraderie is still intact. On several occasions, the wideout extended his gratitude to the KC fanbase for their unwavering support throughout his journey.

Indeed, losing Tyreek Hill from the roster leaves a big void to fill in. However, the Kansas City squad had enough options to replace the veteran. Right End Travis Kelce and the newcomers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling have added more depth to the wide receiver corps.

“We’ve just got to keep rolling. That’s just how it is in this league. It’s a business as much as it is about friendships and stuff like that. We know to have success in this league we have to keep evolving and keep getting better,” Mahomes said.

In the beginning, the quarterback was shocked but revealed that something like that would have eventually happened. Regardless, the Chiefs are still ruling the AFC, with or without Tyreek Hill on the side.
