The NFL has had a multitude of ‘What If’ scenarios. If any of these had gone the other way, we might view the entire landscape of the league differently. For Tyreek Hill, this play came during the first quarter of his Super Bowl LV matchup against none other than the Tom Brady led Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Alright, imagine the scenario. 3rd and 11. About 5 minutes to go in the first quarter. Both teams struggle to get off the marks and put up their first points. Patrick Mahomes threw an absolute rocket to Tyreek Hill right into the red zone. But Tyreek Hill couldn’t hold on. This is the one dropped pass that Tyreek Hill still thinks about it. 

Given that the pass in question was incredibly difficult to hold on to, but if there were ever was a receiver who could’ve pulled off the miraculous catch, it was Hill. The game ultimately ended up in a blowout win for the Bucs, with a vintage Tom Brady performance. But making that one catch could have shifted the game’s momentum in favor of Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

The “What If” scenarios in NFL history are always fascinating to contemplate.
