The Miami Dolphins have faced some unexpected bumps on the road to the playoff this season. The 8-5 Dolphins have now lost two in a row after Sunday’s defeat to the LA Chargers. Moreover, worries have compounded for HC Mike McDaniel after his best wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, hurt his ankle.

Tyreek Hill suffered a left ankle injury in the 23-17 loss to Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers. Hill had visible difficulty in suiting up and coming back to the game in the fourth quarter. And this was when the Dolphins really needed Tyreek’s explosive speed. Head coach McDaniel tried to stay positive about the entire ordeal without striking fear and panic in the hearts of fans.

Miami Dolphins running back Jeff Wilson also sustained a hip injury in the first quarter of the game and didn’t return for action. Mike addressed the two crucial injuries in the post-match presser. “As far as I know, nothing has been significantly ruled out for next week with regard to those two players. We’re obviously our best version of ourselves if they’re both healthy,” the former offensive coordinator and San Francisco 49ers assistant coach said.
McDaniel also expressed concern about their upcoming hectic schedule. And this won’t make the recovery any easier for Tyreek. “I think there is a legitimate concern,” Mike said.

Tyreek Hill ran for 81 yards and a receiving touchdown in addition to the fumble recovery and 57-yard run to the end zone. With his 81 yards, Cheetah surpassed Mark Duper’s 1984 franchise record for regular-season receiving yards. Tyreek has 1392 for the season after Week 14. However, the 57-yarder still seemed to be the highlight of the game.
The Dolphins trailed by 10-0 when Chargers safety Alohi Gilman botched the Tua Tagovailoa pass to Jeff Wilson on an inside running play. However, the Los Angeles Chargers couldn’t gain possession, as the ball somehow rolled and bounced its way to the fastest player on the field, Tyreek Hill. The former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver didn’t have his usual speed owing to a troubled ankle and could be seen hobbling to the end zone during his scoring plays.

Chargers QB Justin Herbert put up a monster 367 yards passing game. He had a 77% completion and a touchdown to take his team above .500. Tua and the Dolphins have some wide receiving options in Jaylen Waddle and Cedrick Wilson. However, Cheetah’s presence is essential for the Dolphins to excel. And Mike McDaniel could really use Tyreek’s services against divisional rivals, Buffalo Bills, next Saturday.
