Von Miller last attended an NFL combine in 2011. And 12 years later, the Buffalo Bills linebacker made it to Indianapolis this time to make a comeback. However, he is not pressing reset on his decorated career. Instead, Miller is secretly gearing up for his next career move in the NFL.
Hold those horses! Von Miller is not looking for a new franchise in the league. He is an extremely satisfied Bill, recovering from a significant injury and surgery. However, all this time away from the field had Miller thinking about life after football.

The former Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams pass rusher and two-time world champion dreams of one day sitting on the other side of the contract negotiation table. Yes, Von Miller wants to be a General Manager in the NFL. He hasn’t decided on a team yet. But it’s what he has always wanted.

Miller sat down with 9NEWS for an interview at a downtown Indianapolis hotel. “This is what I want to do. I wanted to do this one time before in college when I took my poultry science class and I sat in that class and said If I don’t make it in the NFL, this is what I want to do. This is my second time really feeling like that,” Von said.
And he doesn’t just want the GM chair. Von Miller is a champion, and he wants to keep the success rolling during his days as an executive. “I don’t have any experience. But I know what a winning football team looks like. I know what it takes to build those teams, but that’s it. So I’m here, for the guys to give me instructions on what to do with my right foot next and what to do with my left foot next. And make the first steps to making this happen,” he explained.
The true inspiration for Von’s GM aspirations
This isn’t the first time Von has brought up his GM ambitions, and he always had a benchmark in mind. And that benchmark was Denver Broncos’ President of Football Operations, John Elway. Elway is the “GOAT” for Miller after the quarterback won Super Bowls, both as a player and as the General Manager later.

“The dream really started with John,” Miller said. However, Elway wasn’t the only GM who captivated Von. His Rams GM Les Snead taught him that it’s a pretty cool job to have. And his current Bills GM, Brandon Beane, finally convinced Miller of the glamor of the GM desk. After getting the gig, Von plans to get his quarterback, his HC, and then build the defense, in that order.

However, Von Miller is still a Buffalo Bill. And, also an NFL player for at least the next four to five years, according to his own estimation. “I’m right here where my feet are. I’m a Buffalo Bill, and I’m trying to be the best pass rusher I can possibly be,” Von said at the end.
