Baltimore Ravens are heading for their first pre-season game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but there’s a twist to the story. Following the drill, of benching top players, Ravens are set to bench their promising players in their first match. But in a surprising twist, the news was revealed by the Eagles’ head coach John Harbaugh, and when confirmed with the Ravens’ head coach he denied to spill the beans. 

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has inked a five-year, $260 million deal with the franchise, solidifying his role as a pivotal player in the team’s offensive facet. Jackson’s emergence as a strong force in the Ravens’ offensive line has garnered attention, setting the stage for a high-stakes 2023 season. With raking a promising deal, anticipation is high around Jackson suited up in the Ravens jersey, but Jackson is one of the players to be benched for their first pre-season game.

NFL journalist Ari Meirov recently disclosed a significant development regarding the Baltimore Ravens’ preseason games. Meirov’s tweet unveiled as per the Eagles head coach John Harbaugh, the Ravens decided to withhold Lamar Jackson and their established starters from the upcoming preseason clash against the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday.

Highlighting the scenario, Meirov wrote, “The Ravens, who hold a 23-game preseason win streak, will not play Lamar Jackson or any of their established starters on Saturday vs. the Eagles, per HC John Harbaugh.” Additionally, Meirov concluded by writing, “Eagles HC Nick Sirianni declined to say what he’ll do with his guys.

The Ravens hold an impressive preseason track record, with a remarkable 23-0 win streak in preseason games since 2015. However, the preseason games are just a teaser of what lies ahead in the regular season, and seeing the Ravens’ preseason approach, the entire camp receives heightened anticipation as they set their sights on avenging the upcoming 2023 NFL season.
