Jake Funk, a former seventh-round pick out of Maryland, was first signed by the Los Angeles Rams. He spent four rookie years with the Rams before going on to win Super Bowl LVI. However, following an ankle injury, he was put on the injured reserve squad before finally being waived off on October 11, 2022. 

Now the 25-year-old, Indianapolis Colts running back relocated to Indiana, following being promoted to the active roster on January 3, 2023. A recent social media post by his fiancée reveals the true reality faced by the couple. 

Issues in Indiana 

Funk was signed by the New Orleans Saints before moving on to the Indianapolis Colts on November 10, 2022. The 25-year-old running back was promoted to the active roster recently on the 3rd of January 2023. The same month Funk proposed to Ann Sluss, the 27-year-old influencer whom he had been dating for less than two years. The duo moved to Indiana shortly afterward. 

But as demonstrated by Sluss in her TickTok videos, she was uncertain of the outcome from the very start. Since the active roster is yet to be officially released, it does not confirm Funk’s position for sure. 

All the contesting NFL teams are required to draft the final NFL roster by the 29th of August which must be sized down to a limit of 53 players per team which leaves Funk’s future uncertain.

“I love where we’re living, but with the NFL you truly never know what’s going to be happening yet, so I haven’t unpacked my bags yet until the roster officially comes out,” explains Sluss on a TikTok video titled, “NFL Open Practice Vlog.” 

She explains in a previous video, “You just never know with this football world, so right now I’m packing for partial winter, fall clothes. We’ll see where this football season takes us,” and therefore, had not started unpacking completely either. 

Not Ann’s first time

Influencer Ann Sluss, 27, confirmed her relationship with Funk in February 2022 after she posted a TikTok video of the couple hugging after the Rams’ Super Bowl win. The running back popped the question on the couple’s holiday by the beach shortly after.

Sluss shared a picture of her stunning emerald-cut engagement ring worth approximately $80,000. This, however, is not her first engagement. The reality TV participant featured on the 24th season of The Bachelor. She along with others on the show were vying to become Peter Weber’s beau. She ended up winning the show with Weber proposing to her during the season finale. The two, however, called it quits soon afterward. 

250 days after their engagement the couple finds themselves in an uncertain spot in Indiana with the ball in the Colts court. Will Funk make it to the official active roster? Will the couple have to repack and relocate again?
