The NFL 2023 draft pick was star-studded, with potential quarterback picks dominating the night. Bryce Young and Anthony Richardson were among the top picks for the Carolina Panthers and the Indianapolis Colts respectively. With the Carolina Panthers facing off against the Atlanta Falcons and the Indianapolis Colts fighting for the win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, all eyes are on these young prodigies to make their mettle known.
Surprisingly, the no. 4 overall draft pick Anthony Richardson managed to shine bright before the no.1 overall draft pick Bryce Young. In their NFL debut, Anthony Richardson edged out Bryce Young by scoring a touchdown first while the No.1 pick was recovering from a fumble.

During the first play of the second quarter, the 21-year-old University of Florida star scored the first touchdown of his career, bringing the score to 7-7. The touchdown was a result of a quarterback draw from 2 yards out. When Anthony Richardson was drafted as the no.4 overall pick by the Colts, there might have been some doubts surrounding his accuracy on the field. With this beautiful maiden touchdown, the former University of Florida football prodigy is proving the naysayers wrong from game 1.

On the other hand, Bryce Young had a case of slippery digits during the first quarter when he fumbled through a snap. However, luckily he recovered the ball and the Carolina Panthers managed to get into the end zone. Sadly, to no avail, as the Atlanta Falcons defense stepped up big time to stop the Panthers from advancing. Heisman trophy winner Bryce Young was named the starting quarterback in week 1 by coach Frank Reich right after the opening of the Panthers’ training camp.
