Following the quiet postseason, they made quick work of the offseason, drafting Anthony Richardson as the 4th overall pick in the 2023 draft.

In light of the performances of their QBs from last year where they’d scored 18 TDs between their 5 QBs. They brought in an insurance policy in Gardner Minshew to add competition for the spots. But with the latest updates circulating in the news from the Colts building, it seems they have already picked their starting QB for 2023.

Anthony Richardson stands atop the pecking order

Following a disappointing start to the preseason campaign for the Colts, they have announced their starting QB for the upcoming season. They’d caption the tweet with “Colts name Anthony Richardson starting QB for regular season.” Following the disappointing season from last year, and an underwhelming start to the preseason, Steichen has made his intentions clear for the QB role for the regular season in 2023.

Despite bringing in Minshew, a QB he has worked with before, Steichen named Richardson as their starting QB. This will have caused some discontent for the man that had just signed a 1-year deal in the offseason. But his words and rapport suggest he is handling it quite well with the 2023 season knocking on the door.
