Every player, who comes into the NFL Combine, has come into the league thinking about making a mark in the sport. Young players have always looked up to the likes of players as impactful as Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. Brady has gone on to set a league standard with his dominance in playoffs and his Super Bowl wins. Furthermore, Mahomes proved himself to be a rising star when he silenced the haters with a specular win. Every player wants to emulate the greats and Mahomes and Brady have risen to the top of everyone’s lists. Even players in the Combine spoke about wanting to live up to the standards of such players.
One player, in particular, mentioned his eagerness to leave his mark on the game of football in the same way. He went on to publicly state his wishes for his career and mentioned his tall dreams.
The young quarterback with Patrick Mahomes-like aspirations

One of the most outstanding players in the draft, Anthony Richardson, has mentioned his goals for the league with a lot of gusto. When he was asked about his Combine experience, he simply told the press that he was prepared for it all. He also mentioned that he sees himself becoming a future face of the league and wants to leave his mark on the field. Furthermore, he went on to compare his story to that of Brady and Mahomes, via Chiefswire. He said, “I want to be like Patrick Mahomes. I want to be like Tom Brady. I want to be one of the greats. I will be one of the greats because I’m willing to work that hard and get to that point.”
The young quarterback showcased his confidence in himself and looked to be a threat to other quarterbacks next year. Richardson has already started to shock people with his skills on the football field. His recent Combine numbers were off the charts. He showed his competition as well as the teams that he means serious business.

Richardson’s leap of excellence
The young quarterback from Florida went on to show everyone just a glimpse of what he can do in the league. While doing the drills, he went on to break the highest vertical leap record ever set in the Combine by a QB. His jump was a stunning 45″ and it shook the league to see a quarterback have that high a jump with all of his other threats on the field.
With his brilliance in the Combine, Richardson is surely a threat that his competition needs to watch out for. However, only time will tell if he is able to achieve his dream of leaving a mark on the sport like the great players he cited.
