Josh Dobbs has landed in his new home.  Just mere hours after Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said the 28-year-old would be the backup to starter Deshaun Watson, Dobbs found himself traded to the Cardinals. The announcement came on Thursday, and everything unfolded within a blink.

However, Dobbs is too accustomed to the whirlwind of schedules in the league. The quarterback who was nabbed by the Pittsburgh Steelers back in 2017 in the fourth round has already switched pastures a total of seven times. With his recent stop at the Cardinals, it’s an all too familiar routine, as he discloses what might come off as a harsh schedule.

Josh Dobbs took to his TikTok after the sudden twist of things, giving a glimpse into what a QB’s life looks like within the 24-hour rollercoaster ride of an NFL trade.

“Yesterday, when I woke up, did I have any idea that I would be moving from Cleveland, OH all the way out to Phoenix, AZ today? Not at all. However, am I extremely excited about the opportunity? 100%!”, Dobbs said as he started the video.

And so he delved into the breakdown of the next couple of hours. When one gets traded, they get “about a couple of hours” to gather their stuff, before you are off to catch that flight.

A couple of hours to pack everything might come off as insufficient, but thanks to his several years of experience as a seasoned ‘tourist’, Dobbs says he is a pro at packing fast. This time, he also got a generous 24 hours.

Dobbs also dished out tips on how he packs light, just in case you needed some packing tips from the QB-a few essentials, such as undergarments and something to entertain yourself like iPad, computer, etc., and the rest of the stuff, you get once you land in the new city, says Dobbs.

Dobbs’ future at the new stop

Dobbs was traded with a seventh-round pick in 2024 to the Cardinals, a team currently grappling with uncertainty at quarterback situation as starter Kyler Murray recovers from knee surgery.

There are no confirmations as to whether Dobbs would start the games as Colt McCoy and Clayton Tune are in the line-up. However, the QB boasts an impressive record to snag the spot. In three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans, he’s played in eight games, including 2 starts. He’s thrown for 456 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions. And with Dobbs onboard, he could be the perfect puzzle piece the Cardinals QB room needs now.
