One of the biggest and the most exciting games will happen between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs. While both the teams were getting ready to face each other, the Bengals made a surprising move that shocked fans on Twitter.
Cincy signed a cornerback that the Chiefs were very familiar with. Kansas City is so familiar with the CB that they waived him off from their team on Monday.

Before their do-or-die matchup against the Bengals, the Chiefs made changes to their roster and cut Chris Lammons, the 26-year-old cornerback on Monday. The action surprised many, but the prospect of Lammons rejoining the team on a practice squad remained since he had a chance to clear waivers. A day later, however, it has not proven to be the case.
Because Lammons could not clear waivers, the biggest Chiefs rival picked him up. The move is deferred until February 13th. Therefore, the CB will not play any games for the Bengals but he can act as an impactful intel. Along with that, Kansas City will be unable to bring special-teamer back into the roster for the rest of the postseason.

This fan raised an interesting doubt.
How do the Bengals know he’s not a double agent? Providing bad intel. Maybe the Bengals are playing checkers and the Chiefs are playing chess…

Cincy will not contact the CB. And the reason they waived him is that he is a solid special teams player and if the Chiefs had brought him off from the practice squad, Lammons could have dominated the Bengals.
so can they legally talk to him prior to the day after the super bowl, or no?

They are signing him bc they knew the chiefs were bringing him back to practice squad and calling him up rest of the season. They had to make room on active roster for Jody forston. They are just playing keep away essentially. They will release him before next season starts imo
