These days, ranking the wide receivers in the NFL has become a tedious job. The competition is so intense that each day, one or the other wideout pops up with his incredible on-field performance or bagging a lucrative contract. Recently, while speaking in an interview, the triple crown winner Cooper Kupp listed his top 5 best wide receivers in the league. To everyone’s surprise, he didn’t consider ranking himself but included his former teammate Odell Beckham Jr at the 5th position.

The reigning Super Bowl champion is coming off a successful season, leading the tally with 145 receptions, 1,947 receiving yards, and 16 touchdowns. He became the only fourth wide receiver since 1990 to win a triple crown; however, he refrained from ranking himself in the top 5. In the recent episode of ‘I am Athlete’, Cooper Kupp derived a list of best receivers after some analysis. According to him, the former Packers elite wide receiver Davante Adams holds the first position.
Vikings’ Justin Jefferson holds the second spot and Bills’ Stefon Diggs on the third spot. Bengals’ emerging talent Ja’Marr Chase comes fourth, and his former teammate, now free-agent Odell Beckham Jr secured the fifth position. Indeed the list he presented is quite fascinating. After rating the top 5 best NFL receivers, Kupp explained why he doesn’t deserve to be on the list.
“I think most receivers in this game, most guys playing at this level, they’ve got something that they do better than anyone else,” he said on the show.
“Every receiver you just had on this list is great at something. I think every single one of those guys is a better athlete than I am, quicker than I am, better out of their breaks than I am, all of that stuff,” Kupp added in his explanation. However, in this year’s Madden 23 list Cooper Kupp secured a top spot among other elites in the league.
Cooper Kupp ranks second in the Madden NFL 23 player ratings
A few weeks ago, the Madden 23 ratings were released featuring the top NFL wide receivers. Well, the rankings were somehow predictable, with Davante Adams topping the list with 99 points. While Cooper Kupp and Miami Dolphins’ star receiver, Tyreek Hill secured second and third spots with 98 and 97 points, respectively.

Cardinals wideout DeAndre Hopkins and Stefon Diggs managed to hop in fourth and fifth positions with 96 and 95. These rankings seem to have justified Kupp’s records.

Although it was his humility to not include himself in the self-prepared list. Cooper Kupp has been an irreplaceable asset for the Los Angeles Rams since 2017. The 29-year-old is now gearing up to play in his sixth NFL season for the franchise. With hopes of recreating last year’s performance.
