The quarterback scenario with the San Francisco 49ers has gotten dicier since the AFC Championship game in the last playoffs. While there was no expectation from the 49ers, Brock Purdy was able to lead them through the playoffs when no one expected it. However, the youngster suffered a season-ending injury. Naturally, his injury raised some major concerns among fans.  Even though Purdy had confirmed that he will be making it back for the upcoming season, fans assumed that Trey Lance would be taking up the job. Furthermore, with Jimmy G out of the picture, Lance seemed to be the aptest for the job. However, it seems like the 49ers don’t think so.

It might just seem like Trey Lance is being left out by the 49ers. Firstly, the 49ers recently made an interesting trade by bringing in Sam Darnold as a backup quarterback. Furthermore, they recently shared an update about Purdy’s health and it went viral on Twitter as NFL Ian Rapoport shared it. The update and the way it was phrased make it seem like Purdy is the 49ers’ first choice.

Interestingly, the update came from Kyle Shanahan, one of the coaches from the 49ers. Even the coaching staff of the 49ers seems to be geared more toward Purdy’s return rather than exploring the option of Trey Lance as the starting quarterback.

Furthermore, some fans believe that Lance should just request a trade.

There were comments asking for Lance to be freed.

All the fans were singing the same tune of wanting Lance to be traded.

Finally, one fan commented that Lance should go to the Ravens.

All in all, fans did not think that Lance is going to get a chance with the 49ers. They all believed that Lance would do better elsewhere. The comments were filled with requests to see him get traded.

While Lance’s situation might be precarious with the 49ers, Purdy seems to be getting the green flag, provided he makes a return in time. It only remains to be seen if Purdy will be healthy enough to play when the time comes.
