The time is almost here. The first overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, Trevor Lawrence, is finally set to make his NFL debut in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ preseason tie versus the Cleveland Browns.
The Jaguars who finished 2020 with a 1-15 losing record weren’t feeling too bad by the end of the season. While they did suffer a horrendous campaign, they ended up claiming the first overall pick in the draft to sign the generational quarterback talent.

Lawrence enters the league with sky-high expectations. Touted as the best quarterback prospect in years, Trevor Lawrence is the once-in-a-generation player who can turn the fortunes of a franchise around single-handedly.
Considered one of the best collegiate QB talents of all time, Lawrence went undefeated as a freshman with the Clemson Tigers guiding them to the National Championship in 2019.

Now set to take the next step into the big league, the spotlight will be on Lawrence as he looks to claim the QB1 spot with the Jaguars.
Trevor Lawrence has the chance to seize the moment
Despite being the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, in the Jaguars first unofficial depth chart Trevor Lawrence was not named the team’s QB1.

Instead it simply listed “Gardner Minshew (or) Trevor Lawrence.” Minshew has carved quite a name for himself ever since being drafted into the league as a 6th round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

But it is expected that Lawrence will soon take over as the Jaguars’ true QB1. And the preseason game against the Cleveland Browns would be the best way to do so.
