San Francisco 49ers released their injury report recently, and it showers some good news to the Niner fans. The veteran left tackle Trent Williams who, though listed as questionable, is expected to play against the Chicago Bears today according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Williams has not played for the Niners after suffering an unfortunate knee injury during the Week 5 loss against the Cardinals. His return will most certainly give the Niners’ offense the necessary boost to overcome their four-game losing streak.

Trent Williams is questionable though likely to play
The value addition of the bookend left tackle back in the squad will be of tremendous help as during his absence, Jimmy Garoppolo felt immense pressure against the Colts in Week 7. Garoppolo was sacked twice and threw two picks during that game.

The veteran left tackle, despite sustaining an ankle and an elbow injury, is expected to take on the field wearing his usual red uniform. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport in his tweet said “#49ers LT Trent Williams has ankle and elbow, but source says he is expected to play today despite being listed as questionable.”

Trey Lance back with San Francisco 49ers
However, along with the great news of Trent Williams back in the squad and most likely to play, head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that the rookie Trey Lance would be the backup quarterback in the Windy City.

And with Jimmy G leading the Niners’ offense will be well backed with Trey Lance up on the sidelines. The Shanahan side needs to register a win as their 2-4 run so far this season is not at all respected enough to make them a playoff contender.

The NFC West table seems very well dominated by the Cardinals and the Rams with just one loss so far this season. And that makes the Niners in a vulnerable spot. However, with the likes of the experienced Trent Williams, Jimmy Garoppolo needs to cast miraculous spells starting this week in order to bounce back up.
