During a recent press conference after signing a five-year $255 million contract extension with the Eagles, Hurts talked about his experiences coming into the league and now becoming the highest-paid player in NFL history. The experience has been all about building a drive and character for Hurts, as he will look to become one of the greatest QBs in the league, given his young age at the moment.

Hurts said, “I’m 24 going into year four but, you know, when I first got here, you know, everybody kind of treats me like a journeyman. And I’ve experienced a lot whatever whatever but, playing at Alabama, playing at Oklahoma, those are two very special places. Philly,its a Philly thing.”

With the kind of performance Hurts has been putting up for his team, he is on his way to becoming one of the best QBs in the game at the moment. Since 2020, he has been constantly showing signs of improvement with each passing year in the league.

Another rising star QB of the NFL

There is no doubt about why Hurts received such a huge payout from the Eagles. It is because he was well deserving of it after proving his worth for his franchise on the field. The young dual-threat QB became the first player in this position with over 150 plus passing yards, 150 plus rushing yards, and two plus passing touchdowns in a single game. Apart from this, he also won the NFC Offensive Player of the Year award for his 2022 season. Hurts finished his 2022 campaign with 3701 passing yards, 760 rushing yards, and 35 touchdowns in 16 games.
