The Kansas City Chiefs star athlete Travis Kelce is on the path to becoming one of the great tight ends in NFL history. Recently, the Niners TE George Kittle addressed Kelce as his inspiration. Travis Kelce, drafted by the Chiefs in the 2013 NFL draft, proved to be a lethal weapon for their offensive unit. The seven-time Pro Bowler affirmed that his main intention is to play the game at its highest level and mint his name in the records books of the Pro-football league. Moreover, he also appreciated Kittle’s concern for him.
“I appreciate Kittle saying that,” Kelce said. “That’s my guy, and he always wants to see every tight end get paid as much as their production is. But at the same time, I signed my contract understanding what I had. I put a lot into this, man.” he added.

The 32-year-old also mentioned that his primary focus is to make the Chiefs one of the best NFL teams. “Money, in my mind, is almost secondary at this point in my career. I’m here for the legacy, and I’m here to try and make the Kansas City Chiefs the best team possible. So that’s my main focus. That’s why I’m here.” he said, quoting his intentions for the future. It seems the star has done pretty well for the team.
What did George Kittle say about Travis Kelce?
While talking to Pro Football Talks’ Mike Florio, the Niners superstar, called Kelce an inspiration. However, he was upset about the Chiefs TE being underpaid and believes he is much more worthy.

“He gets paid half of what a wide receiver makes, which just boggles my mind. I mean, to me, Travis Kelce, he’s been doing it for so long and at such a high level.” Kittle said on the show.
To some extent, his analysis seems to be correct. Tyreek Hill, who left the Chiefs this off-season, was offered a lucrative contract of $30 million per year, making him the highest-paid WRs in NFL history. Moreover, tight ends play a similar role to what receivers do, and for a player like Kelce, who piled up records in his career, the comparison becomes one-sided.
He had signed a four-year $57 million contract extension in 2020. That earns him a salary of around $15 million, nearly half of what Hill expected to earn with the Dolphins.
