The infamous Philadelphia curse has struck multiple times in the past. Interestingly, the supposed curse itself functions in a simple manner. In the past, whenever fans of the teams opposing Philadelphia sports team vandalized the statue of Rocky Balboa, the opposing team lost their crucial games. It is noteworthy that the statue itself is placed at a monumental place from a shot in the Rocky movies. Furthermore, this supposed curse has worked in the past, even against teams as good as the Brady led-Patriots, as per ESPN.
Someone recently put up a Chiefs jersey on the Balboa statue. Interestingly, this came right after Kelce spoke about not putting up a jersey on the Balboa statue. Fans had some intense reactions as the image of the jersey on the statue went viral.

The fans did not hold back as they spoke about the curse on Twitter. This fan called it an inside job.

It seems like fans did not believe that any Chiefs fan would do something as brash as triggering the Philly curse. Furthermore, fans also jokingly blame Jason Kelce for the Chiefs jersey on the Balboa statue.
However, only time will tell if the curse of Philadelphia will be applicable to this year’s Super Bowl or if will Mahomes overcome the curse that tripped even Brady.
