The New York Jets finished their 2020 NFL campaign with a 2-14 record. They parted ways with HC Adam Gase earlier this year.
GM Joe Douglas brought in San Francisco 49ers Defensive Coordinator Robert Saleh to usher in a new era for the New York-based franchise.
The Jets are currently weighing their options as they get set to dive headfirst into the 2021 NFL season. One of the players they’re looking at is the wantaway Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.

The 25-year-old former Clemson man ended the 2020 regular season as the league’s passing yards leader (4,823). Watson also threw 33 passing touchdowns against just 7 interceptions.
He is reportedly done with the Texans and will force a move away from Houston, one way or another.

NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe chimed in on the New York Jets quarterback situation involving Sam Darnold and Deshaun Watson.
On the latest segment of FOX Sports show Undisputed, Sharpe added that BYU prospect Zach Wilson will also be on the radar for Joe Douglas and his scouting team.
He said, “I like Sam Darnold. I think with the pieces around him, he can be really good but it seems to me Skip they kind of made their mind up they’re probably gonna go Zach Wilson with that second pick in the Draft.
“Now mind you, they already have their first-round pick. They got Seattle’s pick this year and next year, they’re probably trying to move Sam Darnold maybe get another number one pick or a second-round pick….

“So we got the pieces to come and get Deshaun Watson…they don’t believe in Sam Darnold, they seem to be ready to move on. If Houston Texans are not going to entertain their offer to give up the three first-round picks.
“They’re probably going to go for Zach Wilson, but I believe they’re trying to load up. I believe they’re gonna try to go get Deshaun Watson,” Sharpe said on the show.

The Jets will hope to pull off a blockbuster trade for Watson. But with the Texans unwilling to let their superstar leave, it will take some convincing. Former NFL man Brandon Marshall will agree, Watson does look good in green and white though.
