Tony Pollard was the star performer for the Cowboys in Week 8, securing a thumping victory against the Bears on Sunday. All thanks to the No. 1 prospect of the Dak Prescott-led side, Ezekiel Elliott benched owing to a knee injury. The world could actually see what a great running back he is. Experts like Emmanuel Acho have already started calls for Pollard to replace the veteran.

After head coach Mike McCarthy announced that their long-time running back Ezekiel Elliott’s availability on Sunday was questionable, fans were skeptical about the team’s performance. However, Pollard, who was eagerly waiting for an opportunity, had a prime-time show.

The Memphis product ran all over the field for 147 yards and connected for three touchdowns helping the team win by a great margin of 49-29.

His gameplay was pretty unexpected, and with his single performance, the youngster made the fans and management rethink their decision to keep him as a backup. Former linebacker Emmanuel Acho recently vocalized on this matter, calling Pollard a better man than him.

He mentioned that it was unfortunate for the star to serve as a backup despite having the skills to overshadow the No 1 prospect of the team, who also takes home nearly $12.4 million every year. While Pollard is only $965k.

“There’s no argument,” Jones said in an interview after the Bears game. “Zeke’s ability to punish, Zeke’s ability to deliver, Zeke’s ability, what he does for us in pass protection, and, frankly, Zeke’s ability to make big plays are there, and we’re going to go as Zeke goes. I really mean he’s that integral to our success this year,” he added to his explanation.
