It’s a great day for the former Saints head coach Sean Payton as he celebrates his 59th birthday. Apart from the fans showering him with love online, his 26-year-old daughter Meghan took the moment to express her gratitude publicly on Twitter.
This birthday, Sean Payton happens to be a happy man relieved of his coaching responsibilities. Otherwise, he would have been busy juggling and catching alternate flights for the regular season games. However, this year he got to spend more time with family and experience the game from a fan’s perspective.

Anyways, Payton’s next step happens to be the prime discussion in the NFL world. He stepped down from his responsibility in January this year after completing an illustrious career of 15 seasons at New Orleans.
During this tenure, he racked up countless records and led the side to a Super Bowl victory. His contribution to the legacy of Drew Brees and the organization is something that can’t be overlooked.
Payton boasts a regular-season record of 152-89 and shines in the postseason metrics with nine wins and eight losses throughout his journey. For his irreplaceable contributions, he also won the AP coach of the year award in 2006. Following his decision to step down, the 59-year-old ventures into the arena of football broadcasting.

Recently he spoke about his plans in Tom Brady’s Let’s Go! Podcast. He vowed to coach again but isn’t sure about the upcoming season. “I think sooner than later,” Payton said. “I really enjoy the current job I have… But I think relative to coaching, though, I know that I want to coach again, and it’s not really been a secret. But I wanna find the right spot,” he added.

It is yet to be seen where he finds the next landing spot. There are plenty of options available for him in the market. The Broncos are already in search of a new candidate, and teams like the Colts and Panthers happen to be the favorites. Moreover, his collaboration with Tom Brady is also something that can’t be neglected at this point.
