Ever since Tom Brady has left the New England Patriots, the team has struggled to replicate the success they had with him. The franchise has scarcely even made it to the playoffs since 2019. And most of it is pinned down to them not having good offensive weapons. For the first time since Brady’s Foxborough exit, his successor has got some real weaponry in the arsenal.

Mac Jones has failed to fill the GOAT’s shoes after taking over from him. But that can change with some new addition to the team.

Mac Jones has lacked the outlets that Tom Brady had with the Patriots when he was the QB there. And the franchise has tried to remedy that with a free agency signing this offseason. They have enlisted explosive wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster to help out their QB.

Smith-Schuster has promised to give his everything for the franchise in a message to the fans. He also thanked the Patriots for believing in him.

“Excited for my next chapter in New England! I will give this organization everything I have, thank you for believing in me!” the WR said in a tweet with folded hands emojis.

After a standout season with the Kansas City Chiefs, the wide receiver helped lead the team to a Super Bowl victory. However, he has since decided to embrace a new challenge and join a new team through free agency for the upcoming 2023 season.

Mac Jones has struggled to recreate the success that the Patriots had with Tom Brady. While Brady won six Super Bowl titles with the franchise, they have made it to the playoffs only once since he left Foxborough. And the 2022 season was especially disappointing for Bill Belichick’s side.

The Patriots won eight games out of 17 last season and finished third in the AFC East. While these stats would be fine for many teams in the NFL, the fans expect the Patriots to dominate as they have in the last two decades.

Jones was 18th in passing yardage in the league with 2,997 yards. And he scored just 14 touchdowns, which made him 23rd in the entire NFL. On top of that, he also threw 11 interceptions. He was also repeatedly fined for different reasons during the season. And it all came due to the frustration he had on the field.
