Tom Brady’s terrible luck is something of a theme this season. His troubles with his marriage and his dip in performance grinding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense to a halt have given rise to a lot of speculation about Brady’s capacity to continue in the NFL. While he has remained largely silent on such issues, recently he has been vocal about it. And the most recent comes during an episode of his own podcast, ‘Let’s Go!’. But his words may just have more to them than what he intends to say.

In the podcast, Brady talked about coping with the Bucs’ recent upset defeat to the Carolina Panthers. The Bucs were the favorites to win the game, even with their string of poor performances. And the Panthers were 1-5, not even favored to keep up with the Bucs. But the bigger they are, the harder they fall, and the Bucs fell hard as the Panthers crushed the Bucs 21-3.

Brady said, “Well, you always want to get to the third-and-one situation. So that you have a great opportunity to pick up the yard. We just haven’t done a great job of it, and we’re all aware of it. No one wants to be in a situation where you’re talking about things like this every Monday. But we have to own it, and we have to own the things that we have not done a good job of.”

“We’ve lost two games because we couldn’t get a two-point conversion at the end to tie the game. And at least put more pressure on the other team….. There’s a lot of little things, and those little things add up to big things and the big things add up to losses. And we’ve lost four or five. It’s hard, man, it’s hard to lose four or five. It really is tough, but we haven’t earned it. And we have to own that we haven’t earned it, and we have to go earn it,” he added.

Tom Brady’s personal issues affecting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

Brady‘s personal issues are the talk of the town right now. His marriage took a turn for the worse when he decided to return from retirement. Since then, the situation has only worsened, with recent reports suggesting that the couple has hired divorce lawyers. And although many fans speculated that Brady wouldn’t be affected, the numbers speak otherwise.

His overall conversions in the red zone have decreased, and so have his touchdown throws. Added to that, Brady’s offense failed to score a single touchdown against the Panthers. This has resulted in the Bucs’ average points being less than what it was last season, after 7 games. With no improvements expected in his life anytime soon, will this season be one to forget for Brady and the Bucs?
