After Aaron Rodgers’ Wednesday appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, it’s become pretty clear that a return to the Green Bay Packers was never an option after A-Rod’s former franchise made their feelings clear about moving on with Jordan Love. “That’s the reality of the situation. It is what it is. The Packers would like to move on. They’ve let me know that in so many words,” Rodgers said.

And so for the 4x league MVP, the choices have always been retirement or New York since the season ended. Wingo confirmed that the Jets-Rodgers deal has been on the table since Friday. However, fans may have to wait until next week for an official confirmation.

According to Trey, it’s not easy for any franchise to part with someone as iconic as Aaron. From preparing the appropriate farewell after 18 years to negotiating the right exchange for him. “When the timeline of the narrative is disrupted, much in the same way, as it was for Tom Brady’s pseudo retirement last year when Jeff Darlington and Schefter broke the news that Tom was walking away. And suddenly people are like oh holy h—l we gotta do some stuff. That might be part of it,” Wingo said, addressing the holdup.

Aaron Rodgers addressed the holdup as well

The Super Bowl XLV MVP confirmed Trey’s reports in his Pat McAfee appearance. Right from around the time Woody Johnson, Robert Saleh, Joe Douglas, and Nathaniel Hackett paid a visit to California, Aaron Rodgers knew he wanted to continue playing.
