Rob Gronkowski is undoubtedly one of the best tight ends the New England Patriots have ever seen. While many have tried, no one has come close to Gronk‘s success on the field. Furthermore, off the field, Gronk has been taking a shot at speculating what his old teams and teammates might do. In the past, he has made predictions about Brady’s retirement status, Now, he seems to be going on to making speculations about the Patriots. Specifically, about their quarterback situation.

The former tight end took to Twitter, in an interview with Kay Adams, to address the wild rumors that have been running around regarding Mac Jones. As he spoke to Adams, he denied the rumors that have come up. He mentioned seemingly logical reasons as to why he was denying the rumors. Gronk even went as far as calling the rumors fake news.

The rumors that have been floating around have been along the lines of Bill Belichick’s urge to trade Mac Jones away. Reportedly, this has been due to Jones’ subpar season with only 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions across 14 games. The standards for a quarterback are already high in New England after the comfort of Brady. However, Jones’ performance last season make him an easy trade target.

However, Gronk denied these and mentioned that the team has already made several trades and that they won’t be looking to trade their quarterback as well. He also explicitly mentioned that this is most probably fake news.

As he made such bold claims for the Patriots, fans were startled. They took to Twitter to react to Gronk’s assuredness about the Patriots’ upcoming actions.

Even though Gronk might not be the most credible source of information, he was right about Jones needing to perform this season. It only remains to be seen if Jones is able to give Belichick a reason to not trade him in the upcoming season.
