Brady has been winning Super Bowls for over 20 years. The last one came against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV. Sure to say, Brady has been ruling the NFL for more than one generation. Pat Mahomes seemed to wholeheartedly agree to this once in an interview.
Patrick Mahomes wants Tom Brady to carry on playing
In an interview earlier, Patrick Mahomes only had words of praise for the five-time Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady. Mahomes commented on Brady playing at 45 after coming out of retirement. He said, “You see what Tom is; he’s still playing at a very high level. I think that’s why it’s hard for him to kind of give it up.” According to the Chiefs QB, it’s natural and understandable to want to play more football if you’re as good as Tom Brady.
GOAT Brady and Mahomes have faced each other 6 times in the NFL with an even 3-3 head-to-head matchup till now. Tom Brady still has the edge with his wins coming against Kansas in the most crucial moments. This includes the Bucs’ 31-9 Super Bowl LV domination and the insane 37-31 overtime victory in the 2019 AFC Championship Game with the Patriots.
Tom Brady also has seven Super Bowl rings compared to Mahomes’ one. And Mahomes never fails to acknowledge the greatness of TB12. “The way he was able to change the position, the longevity of great success, I mean that’s the crazy part. You look at his career and there’s never really been a down year,” said the 2019 Super Bowl MVP.
Brady is struggling with his comeback this season
Tom Brady’s coming out of retirement hasn’t been a rewarding decision for the Bucs QB. He has the worst start to a season in 20 years. The Buccaneers are currently 3-5 and second in the NFC South division after three consecutive losses. This has prompted many remarks from experts and analysts who believe it’s time for Brady to go. Brady also faced a considerable backlash from his former wife Gisele Bündchen for his decision to continue playing. This ultimately led to their divorce.
But with personal problems in the rear mirror, Mahomes considers TB12 to be a massive threat to any defense in the NFL right now. Patrick Mahomes looks forward to every time he matches up against the legendary quarterback.
