Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady did take home the honor of being the Male Athlete of The Year during the 2022 Kids’ Choice Awards. The 7-time Super Bowl champion beat some of the most famous names in the sports world like Patrick Mahomes, LeBron James, and Cristiano Ronaldo to win the honor.
It all kicked off with Brady’s best friend Rob Gronkowski and co-host Miranda Cosgrove, kicking off the evening with their energy.

The event also saw first lady Jill Biden as one of the special guest appearances of the evening. The legendary QB did enjoy a ridiculous 2021 NFL campaign in Tampa Bay and was the leading figure in a difficult season.
He did play all 17 regular-season games and did finish second in AP NFL MVP awards behind QB Aaron Rodgers.
Brady ended up recording a career-high 5,316 passing yards and resulting in 43 TD passes. While he didn’t win the Super Bowl, Brady did show his greatness in an injury-marred season. The 15-time Pro Bowler will be back for his 23rd season in the NFL for the 2022 campaign.
Tom Brady is redefining the measure of greatness
One of the greatest QBs to ever grace the football field, there is a feeling of unfinished business in Brady. The 44-year-old did win the NFC South title last season, but his campaign was prematurely ended after defeat. The Los Angeles Rams did manage to put an injury-hit Tampa Bay Buccaneers out of their misery in the dying seconds of the game.

Brady’s decision was rumored to be made after watching one of his fellow nominees in Cristiano Ronaldo in action. The Buccaneers had always left the door open for Brady to return. He took them up on it after almost a month and a half of his retirement life.
The Buccaneers were visibly happy to have their star QB back after a horrifying start to their NFL free agency. Brady will be looking to play in a competitive team for the upcoming season as he hunts for his 8th Super Bowl championship.
