After the 35-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Tom Brady had the entire 49ers roster line up to meet him after the match. At 45, Brady is playing football for more than two decades. And some of the Niners were just born when TB12 won his first Super Bowl championship in 2002. Today, they are playing against him and this fascinates many in the NFL world.

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw wasn’t the only one who asked for autographed memorabilia from TB12. Greenlaw asked Tom Brady to sign the ball, he intercepted off of the seven-time Super Bowl champion. And Brady had mixed feeling about the entire situation.

Tom Brady addressed the fanboy rivals in a recent post-match press conference and said that he was in a similar spot when he joined the league back in 2001. “Yeah, a lot of guys have been watching me for a long time. I’ve been playing a long time. So I understand that. I was a young guy too and looked up to all the guys that were older,” the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback said. Brady recounted his rookie days when he remained in awe of talents in the NFL, such as Brett Favre or Dan Marino.

Was that a compliment or an insult for Tom Brady?

Tom Brady had one of the worst games of his season against the San Francisco 49ers. Brady threw 55 attempted passes and connected for only one touchdown coupled with 2 costly interceptions. And one of these interceptions will live on forever after Brady signed the interception ball for Dre.

Tom also spoke about it on the Let’s Go Podcast with Jim Gray and Larry Fitzgerald. “It was s— for me, it was complete s—,” Brady told Gray. “But I try to be a gentleman. No, actually, I mean, look, it was a great play he made. I’m happy he’s got the ball. I wish I didn’t throw it, but I’m trying to be a good sport.

The former New England Patriots QB and five-time Super Bowl MVP also made it clear that if he was in Greenlaw’s shoes, he would have done the exact same thing. The young Niners linebacker was nervous before going up to Brady to sign the ball. However, Dre believes in the saying, ‘you don’t get what you don’t ask for’. “He’s a good guy to be able to sign that ball after he threw them picks. That’s big time, so I appreciate him,” Greenlaw said about his GOAT.

Tom Brady is once again part of a below .500 team in the league despite still leading the NFC South Division. TB12 has an enormous challenge next week when Joe Burrow and the 9-4 Cincinnati Bengals come to the Raymond James Stadium. And Brady will definitely try to sign as few game balls on Sunday as possible.
