Tom Brady is often called ‘the grandpa’ in the NFL. But he may soon lose that status to someone else. A 49-year-old six-time Pro Bowler is eyeing a return to the league to become the oldest player to play at this level. And he is even seeking a tryout from the Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
The Cowboys looked at wide receivers in free agency and almost signed Odell Beckham Jr. But a legendary Cowboys WR is now knocking on their doors to let him in.

If Hall of Famer Terrell Owens has his way, he will become the oldest player in the NFL at 49. The current holder of the tag Tom Brady is 45. But will it happen?
According to emerging reports, the former Cowboys wide receiver rang up Jerry Jones to ask for a tryout with his former franchise. His agent confirmed the news about the call. “We’ve been in constant communication with Jerry Jones’ office over the last few days about the possibility of him returning to the Cowboys. Terrell is ready to contribute and play any role, big or small. He’s in outstanding shape. He looks no different than he did years ago,” Owens’ agent Gregory Daniel said via Sports Illustrated.
If Owens returns to the NFL, he will not only surpass Brady as the oldest active player, but he will become the oldest to ever play in the league. That tag currently belongs to former Chicago Bears and Oakland Raiders placekicker George Blanda. Blanda retired from the NFL in 1976 at the age of 48.
After the failed pursuit of Odell Beckham Jr, the Cowboys might just go in on this deal. But will they risk it in the playoffs?

So, will the Cowboys bet on someone who hasn’t played in the league for more than a decade? Terrell Owens had an illustrious career playing 15 seasons in the NFL. He is third in career receptions and receiving yards. He is also a Pro Football Hall of Famer. But he last played in the league back in the 2010 season for the Cincinnati Bengals. Will Jerry Jones bet on Owens once again, as he did back in 2006?
