Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New England Patriots QB Tom Brady and his retirement announcement had many things that needed some resolutions. Brady notably omitted in his Instagram post his time with the New England Patriots, that surprised many NFL fans. The Patriots organization won 6 Super Bowl titles with Brady, and it seemed a very unusual snub.

But the Providence Journal’s Mark Daniels did point that Brady also put up a photo of himself which had hidden connotations behind it. The first photo on his Instagram post is from the Bucs game against the Patriots at the Gillette stadium. Daniels suggested that the use of this photo isn’t much of a coincidence, but had some motive. Mark Daniels also points to the frosty relationship between QB Brady and coach Bill Belichick and him leaving the Patriots in 2020 as a free agent.

The New England Patriots and their separation from Brady were quite shocking in 2020. The team was a contender each year for the NFL’s top honor, the Super Bowl, but broke up with an eye towards the future. After a two-decade stay with the Patriots and 6 Super Bowl titles later, the Brady-Belichick partnership was over. While Belichick went on to draft young talent to revamp the Patriots, Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2020 offseason.

But it was the latter who had the last laugh by clinching the Super Bowl title with the Buccaneers. Many experts doubted Brady and his abilities to get the big prize without Belichick by his side. But with his victory, Brady showed his greatness in a unique environment with a new team. While Belichick struggled to replace Brady and find a replacement to fill his shoes.

It will not be a stretch to think that the photo in the Instagram post was a message towards Belichick and his indifferent attitude towards Brady’s achievements. With Brady‘s exit, the opportunity now falls to coach Belichick to show everyone his mettle and legendary status among all coaches in the NFL.
