Trip down memory lane for Tom Brady
As he prepares for his return to his hometown, Brady alluded to some childhood memories. He also connected these to his success and longevity in the NFL. As he spoke about his past, Brady went all the way back to high school, where his tryst with the game first began. He revealed he had a different sport of choice originally.
One can imagine what would have happened had he stuck to baseball and left NFL fans devoid of his excellence. “Serra was a great baseball school. I love baseball. I started playing football and fell in love with football because of the camaraderie of it all,” said Brady.
Talking about what has stuck with him since his early school days, he mentioned something about his mentality. “I was always the kid that was trying to prove myself to everyone,” said Brady. The way this mentality has transformed him into the greatest quarterback of all time is highly commendable. He then went on to reveal his athletic abilities as he was an all-around sports fan. “I was really good basically in a lot of sports. I was really good in baseball. Threw the ball well, hit the ball really well. I was really good in golf…. Any sport I was really good at. I’m good in ping pong. I’m good in darts… I just can’t run and I can’t jump. So running and jumping are a problem,” said an honest Brady as he recognizes his drawbacks as an athlete.
The Brady mentality
Acknowledging his weakness, Brady revealed how he has kept at working on these ever since his high school days. Even at 45 and after winning 7 NFL rings, he has it in him to keep improvising his abilities.“So I always try to work hard at those things. You know I put the dot drills down those that help me to move my feet faster.. And that really helped me get into college.. and I kept working at it and I still work at it. I was out there working on my running today,” said the powerhouse athlete.
