Earlier this year, NFL GOAT Tom Brady retired for the second time in his career. After making a comeback last year post his retirement announcement for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady stated that this time he is “retiring for good.” The 45-year-old has moved on to prioritize spending time with his children and also made an investment to become a minority stakeholder of the Las Vegas Raiders

But despite this, the rumors surrounding the NFL GOAT have not ceased to exist. And now, one of Brady’s ex-teammate has come out to state that the 7X Super Bowl-winning QB might just come out of retirement for the second time in his career.

Earlier, it was speculated that Tom Brady may fill in the QB position for the Raiders. This is because of the uncertainty that surrounds their QB department and Jimmy Garoppolo, who is still recovering from his surgery while failing the physicals in March. While these initial rumors were debunked, Brady’s ex-Buccaneers teammate Antoine Winfield Jr believes that a comeback might be in the books for the 45-year-old.

During a recent episode of the Richard Sherman Podcast, Winfield Jr stated that the Bucs might be trying to convince Tom Brady to come out of retirement once again for the team. “I’m sure we’re still reaching out to him and trying to see if he’s trying to come back to the team”, Winfield JR said. Sherman, who played briefly for the Bucs in their 2021 campaign, agreed with the free safety and feels that a comeback may be in the books for Brady. He said, “Look, I don’t put nothing past[Brady]. This is a crazy world and he a crazy guy. It’s up in the air man.”

Could the NFL GOAT return to the field for one more season?

While these speculations currently remain speculations, it is difficult to state whether fans will see Tom Brady play the QB position once again in the NFL. During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, the 45-year-old shut down all the rumors surrounding his comeback. He said that he is “certain” that he is not playing football again. Even on the Rich Eisen show, Brady said that he is definitely tired” of getting hit, further solidifying his position of remaining retired. Apart from this, the New England Patriots are going to honor the retired QB who won six Super Bowl championships with them, during their home opener at Gillette Stadium. Patriots owner Robert Kraft made a statement saying that it will be the beginning of many celebrations to honor the contributions of Brady to the team during his 20-year stint.
