Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have dropped below .500 once again this NFL season. After their away loss to the Cleveland Browns, the Bucs failed to capitalize on their lead in the NFC South Division. However, despite the overtime loss, Tampa Tom found some silver lining in Sunday’s loss.
Rookie tight end out of Minnesota, Ko Kieft impressed Tom Brady after his touchdown against the Browns. Kieft had only one carry over 5 yards for the touchdown pass from TB12. However, the QB sees a lot of promise in the 24-year-old TE and wants to utilize every possible resource available to him on the roster. Brady answered some questions about Kieft in the post-match presser.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense had little to no answer for Cleveland’s running game on Sunday night football at the FirstEnergy Stadium. Browns running back Nick Chubb and WR Anthony Schwartz recorded almost 150 rushing yards and 1 touchdown each. Tom Brady also had a decent night on the offense with a 97.6 passer rating and threw no interceptions against Cleveland. However, the 17 points were not enough, according to TB12.
Ko Kieft’s Touchdown gives Tom Brady hope for this season
Tom Brady threw one receiving touchdown to Chris Godwin, who had 110 yards on 14 carries. Brady threw 29 out of 43 passes and completed 2 total touchdowns over 246 yards. It was this second Ko Kieft touchdown that was more impressive to Tom Brady. In the post-match conference after the 23-17 loss to Jacoby Brissett and the Cleveland Browns, Brady called Kieft “a versatile player.”
“It’s hard and I think that you know if he [Ko Kieft] provides some blocking the Run game and then we get about in the passes, you know. He’s catching the ball doing a good job there. So just gotta keep finding all the guys on the roster to figure out ways to contribute,” the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback said.

Tom Brady and the Bucs were leading 17-10 with a minute left on the clock. However, it wasn’t Ko Kieft who changed the outcome of the game. Browns tight end David Njoku made one of the catches of the season from a Jacoby Brissett throw with 38 seconds left and took the game to overtime where the Browns won. The 5-6 Buccaneers face their divisional rivals, the 4-8 New Orleans Saints next Monday.
