Pickleball, a sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, has become very popular in recent years. In fact, on the Pat McAfee Show, the host and his guests discussed how many pickleball players are former tennis players who failed to make it to the professional level. They wondered if Mardy Fish, a retired tennis star who was on the show as a guest, had ever considered entering a pickleball tournament and easily dominating the competition with his superior skills and experience. However, Mardy respected the pickleball players and their abilities, and exclaimed, ?Those guys are pretty good. You?d be shocked,? implying that pickleball was not as easy as it looked and that he would not underestimate his opponents.

Pat McAfee jokingly interrupted him and said, ?Yeah, I know I am. Thank you. But go ahead and talk about you please.? He pretended that Mardy was complimenting him instead of the pickleball players since he also played the sport occasionally. Mardy Fish caught on to his humor and challenged him to a friendly wager. He said, ?Pat, I?ll play you for any amount of money you want,? even expressed his confidence that he could learn how to play pickleball well enough to beat Pat.
