Tom Brady is just unbelievable. The brand value that he has created in an illustrious 23 seasons career is surreal, and it’s showing results in the cards auction every year. A new Rookie Card from the 2000 playoff contenders Championship ticket set just got auctioned and guess what? It got sold for a humongous $2.4 million breaking all the records this year.

Yes! The Buccaneers passer had just broken his record. This deal was the third-highest public auction sale for a Brady card ever. Can you imagine? The sum is $2.4 million for a card that is quite rare, and only 100 of those have been created.

PWCC was behind listing this card for sale. Per TMZ, just 16 hours into the bidding process, the $1 million mark was breached effortlessly. This super rare card was graded mint, and the autograph was 10/10, falling under the perfect category.

Out of the 87 graded cards from a total of 100, only a few have been listed for the Mint category “This is an extremely desirable card featuring the greatest quarterback to ever play the game,” PWCC executive Jesse Craig said per the outlet.

This shows the love and compassion of the new card owner, for the veteran, who just spent $2.4 million out of his pocket. A few months ago, a similar sale was carried out through eBay.

The same category card was sold for $2.3 million, making it the third highest ever. Meanwhile, the passer has once again triggered the GOAT debate after he surpassed the NBA all-time great Michael Jordan, whose rookie card got sold for more than $1 million at auction this year.

It was one of the 23 cards signed by the legend in 2006 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Upper deck. While Jordan stood with $1 million, Brady surpassed the record by $1.4 million more on the table.

During the time, when Brady was about to announce his retirement, the merchandise and rookie card sales skyrocketed. Last year, after the veteran won his seventh title, a similar situation happened, wherein two Rookie cards got auctioned. One for $1.32 million and another for $2.25 million.

Brady was surprised to see those eye-popping figures and the demand for these rookie cards. The quarterback regretted not keeping some of those signed cards with him. “It’s surreal, and it makes me want to go check all the cards that I have stored again; there’s got to be one [more] in there somewhere,” he said in an interview last year.

“My agent, Steve, was like [‘I’ve] got a trading card deal for you. Sign 1000 cards, and they’re going to pay you like 20 cents a card.’ And I was like, ’20 cents a card, five, whatever — I’m gonna be rich. This is unbelievable! 21 years later, you see these cards that are worth that kind of money. I definitely should have kept some of them,” Brady added, narrating the whole story. Well, the GOAT has just proven no matter what the situation is, his popularity is unwavering. In fact, this is expected to rise in the coming years.
